My 14 year old son bought a 78 Bronco . The other guy replaced the pump twice. We got one from napa put it on last night . Whines a little when you cut the wheel sounds normal but wheel still tight . Coming out of a turn you have to straighten the wheel up. Is this normal or is something wrong with the gear box? Drives good no play in the wheel just to tight. Fluid level is good pump does not whine at rest. Do not want to burn out another pump . Thanks for the help he has two years to get all the bugs worked out.

im thinking the work gear ontop of the steering box is too tich, you must loosen the i believe to be 5/8 nut to free it, and then turn it INTO the box itself only a turn or so to loosen it up and then retighten the nut, this is located directly on the top of the steering box and the top of the gear shaft is square i believe, try that and ssee if that helps the problem
