I was tapping in the rear diff carrier shim and it broke. I can’t find a replacement and I have a shim kit from bronco graveyard but not sure if it’s correct. The shim that broke had a chamfer and was cart iron. image.jpgimage.jpg

Hey CD
The cast iron ones are used at the factory and called production shims. The steel ones are called service shims.
You are supposed to discard the cast ones when you take it apart and install a service shim pack, you will need 2 spacers, I think they are 0.160” plus an appropriate shim with each spacer to get your side bearing preload and backlash in spec.
When you are done there should be a spacer and a shim on either side of the diff between the housing and the side bearings.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
