I'll try to keep it brief.

93 Bronco 5.0 A/T

So Im driving along on the hwy with no CEL, engine looses power and throttle is completely unresponsive. After coasting to the side of the road as I stop AS SOON AS RPM drops to idle (about 700-800)... Taa Daa- power restores itself... Effin weird! Almost as if throttle breaks, then to fix it automatic choke or idle control has to kick in (or something like that) to fix it. I have about a 25 mile commute to work and it seems to happen about twice each way. Has been happening for a couple of months but getting worse.

I only read about 1 way to pull codes using a jump wire in the self-test harness and (with this method) has no codes thrown...

So far I have replaced:

Fuel Pressure Regulator, Throttle Position Sensor, Fuel Filter (twice), O2 Sensor, Air Filter, Plugs, Wires, Dist. Cap & Rotor, PCV valve...

HWY driving, loss of all power/throttle, can be fixed by stopping and letting idle drop??? Im so lost and going broke trying to figure it out.

I'm a novice-intermediate mechanic so please bare with me...

Thanx

You might look through Miesk5's homepage of Bronco links. I have a link to his site posted in the tech Articles forum, or just find a recent post of his and click on his signature line. I would think that you would have a DTC if one of the sensors was bad, or the IAC was going out/ dirt. Does it seem like a fuel issue, or more of no throttle response? That might even be a transmission problem, JSM84

Edit: Heree's a link:

Thanks for your response

Hard to say, seems like a sensor but no codes... Throttle def allows fuel to travel as i can smell gas when pumping it but wont fire until I get back to idle... My best guess is that it's something that keep the vehicle from dieing from low idle such as automatic choke (if there is such a thing) and is also tied into the throttle...

I'm so lost here, I have seen a couple of other post on different sites about this issue but never saw a resolution.

I checked the recomended site but didnt see anything that fit my issue... any other ides?

Thanx

You should find a link or two on how to test for codes. Did you follow the steps on using the wire method? You don't have a "choke' with the fuel injection system. IF you need some specific links to look up I'll try to post one or two. (Unable to copy&Paste a link from another thread at the monet, but I can post from other sites). JSM84

Edit: try using the key words "engine codes" or "code reader", and you should find the list of procedures for checking DTC's by Bronco Joe. (Must use the " marks before and after the search words). Perhaps Seabronc or Miesk5 will chime in later and post a direct link.
