Hey out there in bronco land :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I've been thinking about some performance options for the ol 87 bronc. Got the 302 with efi, seriously considering the mass air flow/mustang puter swap and all the fun stuff could do with it afterwards. What I've been trying to figure out is can I legaly install one of the many mustang performance intakes they got out there. I live in cali and smog laws **** sometimes, asked a couple mechanics and most didn't know. Figure should go to smog shop just havent made it there yet. Found the one edelbrock intake for the trucks, just wanna try something else.

Also saw one of the "trucks" episodes where they had i think the lightning and mounted turbos under it, what do yall think of it? Kinda scary for offroading, but could add some armor. Just curious bout that one.

btw, I just checked on Andy's cat and now Magnaflow states it is not CALIF approved...."49 state legal, only for vehicles outside of California."

thAngs change out there overnight.

EDIT; Andy also posted this elsewhere;

"...the new laws are part of the reason i got it to pass before the new year clicked over.."

so, go thru that CARB search site and look for those products that are listed

hmmm. lots to think about thanks.

i'll look into the cats tonight. now that you mention it i've been having those symptoms (i.e. overheating, restricted flow). that three inch cat is what i am looking for. though i think i could get away with it. my truck has only got one cat and p.o. welded it in and a new muffler (both low quality peices, and worse welds than mine) and it passed smog twice.

thanks again.
