I have a 79 bronco with a 6" suspension 4" body lift. I bleed the ps system and it works fine. The problem I'm having is that the ps pump keeps spewing after I shut the truck off. I put just light finger pressure on the cap and it doesnt do it. The second I take my finger off.... mount saint hellen!!!!!! is it just the cap seal or????

Can't say I've heard of that before. Dosen't your cap lock onto your pump?

I had the same problem that you are describing. However it was because of trapped air in the system, which you already said that you bled the system out. You may want to try having it flushed, I have heard of crap building up in the gear box and causing a restriction in the pressure side. When it does this it causes a back pressure that will cause fluid to shoot back in the pump after you shut off the engine.

Just an idea.

Same problem here. I jacked up the truck. With motor running I left the cap off and rotated all the way right and left several times to get any air out. I also added lucus P.S. That stopped the Mt. St. Helens eruption.

take the cap off of your pump, jack up the front end so both tires are off of the ground, start up the truck and let it run for a min or so, then turn the wheel all the way left and hold for a few seconds, then all the way right and hold for few seconds, do that a dozen times or so, that should remove all of the air from the system, turn it off and check the level and make sure its full, if the problem persists, id start replacing the lines and or chekcing for clogs that may be causing excess pressure
