My 1985 Ford Bronco will not stop overheating. I replaced radiator, hoses, thermostat, bought fan shroud, and put new coolant in it. I don't know if the temperature sending unit is bad or what but I cant understand how it could still be overheating. I was going to replace the temperature guage to a gauge that shows actual temps. I am only 16 and don't know alot of things about engines. Any advice would be helpful and I would appreciate it alot.

Does the vehicle show the clasic signs of overheating like steam from the purge valve? If not, your guage could be bad or the sending unit is shot.

No not at all, once it gets to the upper range of normal, I want to let it keep running but i am afraid something is going to happen to it. Should I go and buy a sending unit and gauge?

Thats my best bet, the guage is off, try replacing the sender the guage. Let it run even if it says its overheating, if you have coolant in the system, it'll be okay.

I just bought a new sending unit today. But there are times when the gauge stays in the middle and there are times when it says that it is overheating. I might be going and buying a temperature gauge tomorrow. I think that the gauge is off or there is something wrong with it. What size gauge should I get for a 1985? I am not to sure what to get.
