original tires for a 88

I removed the outside spare carrier and moved the spare inside and when removing the spare from the carrier it looked like it had never been used and still has the ink on the tread areas and nubs,its a General versa track 235/75 R15 and was wondering if it was the original spare. If its original is there anyone doing a restoration and looking for original tires since mine is 2wd and the tire is like a snow tire it might get replaced with a smaller diameter street tread spare now that its inside now.

Yes,

Ford use various make tires in prod line; could have been Firestone, etc.

as shown in the 88 Dealer Brochure

Hey Jeff,

Generous of you to offer the tire. A word of caution....any tire that old should not be driven on, even if it looks like new. The rubber will have been aged regardless of exposure to elements or not. In the interest of safety, that tire should not see any mileage, and is suitable for display only.

I never thought of the age issue so I will just keep it as a spare.

A "display" spare...should you need to replace a tire, DO NOT use it on the road.
