My son's 94 Bronco has a 302. The oil pressure gauge registers zero, no response at any RPM. The engine has pressure, or it would be burnt up by now. I cleaned up the connector, but no improvement. How do I test to see if the problem is the sender, the connection, or the gauge?

Simpelist thing to do is replace the sender, they are cheap and are notorius for going bad. You could do a continuity from end to end to check the wire but failure of the wire and gauge is rare. If the sender was replaced recently, make sure there is no teflon tape on the threads as the contact is required to make the ground connection. The threads are designed to seal when snugged down.

Good luck,

:)>-

If you take the wire that went to the guage and ground it to the block the guage will go to the high side thats the easiest way to verify the guage is working , The sending unit is nothing more than a variable resistor . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Connector broke off during other maintenance. I replaced and it started working. "Don't be angry when it breaks, be amazed when it works."
