I would still recomend putting a manual pressure gauge on it to test and be sure. If the seal in the sender is bad, the oil will leak faster through it when it gets warm, dropping the pressure signal to the gauge itself. Not to mention the fact I have replaced several times the oil press./temp portion of those peticular dash setup. Although it is very possible the bearings or pump is bad, better off knowing for sure.

I agree w/Jersey.

btw, did i miss somethAng here?.. Is the gauge an original "gauge" or an aftermarket?

bec. the original "gauge" is not the old "real" variable resistive style oil pressure gauge; it is the switch type;

read this article; by Jamie at asashop.org

Well, since he hasn't had anything to say one way or the other since he posted the original question I think we've all been working off the assumption that he simply has the original dummy guage.

Yep... yesterday I started working off the assumption that since this was his first and only post, that he found us, asked a question, and forgot to bookmark the site. Not only does he have low oil pressure, but doesn't know how to get back here.

I appreciate the thread though, because I learned about WHY worn bearings will give low presure, and a bit about oil viscosity.

Thanks guys,

joe

Hey, as long as one person gets something from everything I think the mission has been accomplished. I've never bookmarked this site, once I found it I was HOOKED and couldn't forget if I tried. I like my Bronco and my Broncofellows that share the same passion as I do for their Broncos.
