It's on the oil pan, under the truck.

You can see the bolt on the right, loosen that and the oil will drain.

I have 133,000 miles on my truck. Can you give me any suggestions on what kind of oil I should use?

I believe its 5w30 for those, but refer to to your service manual for that. Any oil will do, the company has just added certain additives for better starting, stop and go etc. You could use an oil treatment like Duralube or STP. Ask your local autoparts store for advice or quaestions about directions.

Fireman,

Isn't 5W30 a little lite for that 351? I was thinking more in the lines of 10W30 or 10W40.

With an engine that old, you may have to go as high as 20W50 to maintain pressure when idling.

I know different people have different preferences for oil brands and weights. My Dad and I have run Quaker State 10W40 in Broncos since we've had them. Never had any problems. As most of you know, I like to run a quart of Lucas oil in there in place of one of the quarts of QS. It's as thick as honey on a winter day...and it is NOT a synthetic. It just gets in there and coats everything. It's great. Along with all the other stuff I did, this additive restored some power, increased some fuel economy and the engine just purs.

I know some of you will say Quaker State sucks...but that's why there's chocolate and vanilla. Just don't pour any Pensoil in your engines if you want to keep them running.

i thought it was a little odd that in the second post the picture showed the oil came out of the side and mine comes straight out the bottom, is that just an aftermarket one or something,

also i run 10w40 all year round and have never had a problem.

Seabronc,

What brand name 20W50 oil do you use or what would be the best kind? I was going to get a kind of oil that is for high horsepower engines and also helps cool down the engine. I just need some advice on what brand I should get. Thanks.
