Anyone install an oil catch can on their truck?

I decided to install one on my truck..two actually. One off the PVC valve, and one between the valve cover and intake box.

I'm deff catching quite a bit of oil.. I noticed when it's cold outside, i catch doubble the amount of oil than when it's warm outside.

Anyone figure out a way to put a breather on the valve cover? I have a feeling the catch can I got between the valve cover and intake, well the intake is SUCKING oil into it.. maybe if I install a filter on the valve cover, this will provide the breathing the motor requires, but won't **** the blood out of the system?

Here's the setup..

I was getting a bit of blow by. I first installed the catch can before the air intake, as my air filter was soaked in oil. I also found traces of oil in the throttle body.

So I put the catch can in, so I would no longer get oil soaked air filter which would **** my mpg.

I then installed a 2nd one off the PVC valve from that blow by to be sucked back into the manifold as the last two ports had a heavy thick black wall..as to where the front 3 ports (closest to the motor) were still showing metal.

Clearly with the evidence, oil was getting through the system in places it shouldn't. About 8 months, I've noticed better MPG, and a slight notice in power..well not so much power, but it's not as bogged down as it was.

Problem is, I feel like oil is being sucked out of the motor into the air intake tube..so I'm wondering if it's safe to just put a breather filter on..that way oil wont be sucked out of the motor, soaking up my air filter....

Is this on your "tired" motor? Why not just fix the problems, the rings?

Got them on all four vehicles. The 2 have less than 50k on em. 1 just hit 75k. Bronco has over 300k on it. All catch oil, tho the Bronco by far catches more than the others.

Eh I'm not worried about it. Bronco is getting a new supercharged motor here soon so no need to waste time/money on this motor as no serious issues are currently going on.

"Anyone figure out a way to put a breather on the valve cover? "

I wouldn't do it; try this...

Crankcase Breather Jar pic in an 85; "...splice into the line between the PCV and the intake. in between add a jar with 2 holes on top. one is an inlet and the other is an outlet. on the inlet side add a tube with a screen on the end which will trap the oily fumes from the air. so now u have fresh air going into the intake...its been in the bronco for more then 10 years. about every oil change i would have to empty out the jar. there would be like an 1" of oil laying at the bottom. sometimes worse when i go wheeling and use the "go petal" a lot.

i used a brass plug with the same threading as the hole on the back of the intake manifold, then i drilled and tapped a new hole on the side and ***** the old fitting back in. careful the metal of the intake is kind of soft" Read Click Next to see more pics
