I had some one share a theory with me that O² sensors in the exhaust should be replaced every 50,000 miles. The reason is that the sensor builds up with carbon and after a while doesn't read as accurately as when it wasn't full of carbon.
Now I thought this idea was kinda BS because I feel that the Error code light would come on if the sensor provided inaccurate readings. But given that ethanol laced fuel loves to reek havoc on our beloved Bronco's I feel that their might be some truth to this theory.
So I guess the question is... Replace the sensor because it could be full of carbon? or... Don't worry 'bout it because the Bronco runs just fine in.
