Alright lets put all our heads together and tell me how stupid I am. I have no power anywhere, so I cleaned and checked all connections, changed battery, changed v-regulator, changed starting solenoid, changed ignition switch, ALL brand new. STILL nothing, I mean nothing at fuse box! But if I turn key to ON position and take a "jumper" wire from battery side of solenoid and jump to first (closest to battery terminal) terminal, it engages starter and I can actually start the bitch and run it. At this point I have lights, turn signals, etc....... So ground is good, battery is good, everything is good, HELP!!!!

Right

Mod. would have nothing to do with cranking., lights, etc.

You didn't say.., while running., did you remove the jumper wire..? If so., did everything quit again..?

CHECK THAT..!

You prob. didn't leave that jump. wire on.

I was thinking jumper wire fr. bat. to + on coil.

What are we working on here ? But sounds like a problem with the ignition switch or the actuator rod

Hey sorry guys been away for a week, thanks for all the input. I'll try to answer everything in sequence.

1) Bully Bob, While running I did remove jumper. Jumper was only used to crank motor then rmoved after started, and everything stayed on. Jumper wire was from + battery terminal of solenoid to S terminal of solenoid. Try it you'll see you can't leave it in or starter will not disengage.

2) Elmo, Ignition switch has already been replaced.

3) 79_bronco, Thought the same thing, the only one that I found was right off of the alternator, checked it and it's in tact, are there any more that you know of?

4) Bully Bob, YOU WERE RIGHT!!! It was the muffler piston!!!! But no, no A/T yet. I will fill in signature page as soon as I figure out to, Sorry. I was wondering if it couldn't possibaly be the alternator it self? Doesn't the power run through there before going to the cab? If so how can I check it? ( Without taking it to auto zone, I mean just checking continuity through the quick connect and which wires?)

Thanks for all the help guys, by the time we get this figured out I might know how my lawnmower works :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

While runn'n.., put a volt meter across battery. If it's +-14 V.., it's (alt.) charging the bat.

If +-12V it could be the alt. isn't putting out but that's not your prob.

One other guess is a wire broken "internally"

"Try it you'll see"

I know....I have a "remote" starter button I use for this "jump" i.e. for starting fr. under the hood., or just to "bump" starter for timing set-up.

Yep., there's gotta be power to the fuse block.....what yr. is this..?
