I have a 71 bronco, 302, 3 spd mnl on the floor. Truck runs great, starts fine, but i dont have any power under load. Im not towing anything, its when i start the truck on a hill (like for example driving up a parking garage ramp), the truck really labors. Upon cresting the truck drives perfectly fine.

Any ideas?

Timing?? Compression??

thanks,

tim

two barrel, four barrel? Check the timing, fuel filter, air filter? Even old gas if it has set for awhile can plug up the carb and make it run weak. My 69 sat for an unknown amount of time before I bought it ( I was told less than a year), but it started and ran fine until about 3000 rpm. I had another carb just like it (edelbrock)on another truck, swapped them out to see what happened, and it runs great. So now I need to rebuild it for my truck.
