New waterpump still leaking

So I am getting fairly irritated with my new buy.

I bought this Bronco for $1500 thinking it would be a good time investment, yet im almost at 1750 lol

Anyways, I put a new waterpump in it the night after I got it. It was leaking everywhere out of the run off drain? If it has a real term.

So I put the new one on, gasket, bolted it up, didnt see any problems until I open the hood a week later.

Everytime it gets 2500-3000ish it sprays antifreeze everywhere. You can see it in the middle and lower right underside of the hood. But not when I dont rev it up. Any info on this? I bought it from Autozone, I can get the box if needed.

Hey Djest,

That spot looks too far back to be a leak from the waterpump. Do you actually see the spray comming from the waterpump? If so I would say it is defective.

Yeah, it leaks out of the drain valve thing - im not sure of the actual term

Then it comes downward, hitting the fan, giving it a nice spray to the right side of the hood

I'm thinking you're talk'n about the radiator overflo tube.

This would NOT be a waterpump problem, but a clogged radiator issue. At the very least, a faulty radiator cap.

Is the temp gage reading high..?

An engine block & radiator flush is easy but, even at that, you'll likely need a radiator re-build, or a new radiator.

May also be a good time for hoses & a new thermostat.

Do you mean the weep hole? (hole on the underside of the waterpump snout.)
