New guy looking to buy a bronco

Hey everyone, new guy here from Houston. Looking to get something different from the Honda's I've always done. Well I've found a 89 Bronco II for an asking price of 1500 and it's only about 10 miles from where I live. Seems to be in pretty good shape, but it leaks oil from the valve cover, and "may need a new catalytic converter", think it's worth it? I'm going to check it out probably within the next two hours and I'll report back then w/ hopefully good news!

You might want too go with the full size , 1 they give them away 2 eazy on parts/wrecking yard 3 they give them away, they wheel better imho,3 1/2 more comfy dog cats kids wife friends,4 you can tow with them, 5 did ya whatch that one trucks show ?easy cheap build, too wheel 6 did i mention they are almost free (three in my area for 1200) running and 4by working, but just dont need them

Everybody has a different idea of an offroad truck, some want a perfect truck(shiney and peeeertttyyy), some(me) gut them and dont care if a rock or a tree or a hill decides too get in the way of where I want too go, some people need a daily driver, some need a weekender family truck/tow viechle, , some are just trail trucks(me), do your research, find what you want too do and shop for the best truck before you build!!!!!!!Good luck and show us your new truck when you buy it!!!!

Thanks for the info. I'm going to go look at this one tonight when he gets off at 6, turns out he's a cop. lol, when I called he was arresting someone. Anyways, I'll keep y'all updated. I'm only worried about having to replace the catalytic converter because the inspection is out =[ I'm hoping to be able to get him down to 1300 or 1400 because of that. We'll see. Anything in particular I should be looking at/for when I go to check it out tonight? I'm a complete Ford/Bronco newb.

Just because a cop owned it does not mean its good! Propablly worse they can get through stuff...imho
