I bought a 1990 Bronco 4x4 Eddie Bauer 302 with an AOD transmission and electric tranfer case. I replaced the neutral safety switch because the vehicle would not start in neutral and the reverse lights would be on except when in park. The old switch that came out of the transmission had 5 pins. The replacement switch only has 4. I was hoping the new switch (maybe an updated design?)would also restore the 4x4 operation but it did not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yo Buster,

You will need the correct switch

Ford 7A247 (SW-2039) Gear Position Sensor

Automatic Transmission - AOD; 4x4 - AOD; 5 pin switch - use with electronic transfer case

$74.22 at Ford http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?y=1990&m=Ford&mo=Bronco#Search

or other parts sources

am guessing the new switch (it is prob for the AOD but w/Manually Shifted BW 1356 xfer case) is missing a pin for the R/W wire to the BW 1356 Electr Shift Xfer case
