To make a long story short, I've been having idle problems and getting terrible milage. We were looking at my engine Sat night and discovered that there was no vacuum getting to the EGR! My truck has the plastic tank type vacuum, as opposed to the tried and true "coffee can". Apparently, Ford tried the system I have for about a year, and reverted to the can.
Under the cover of the tank are four solenoids, which hook to color coded vacuum lines. The distribution fitting had several ears broken off. I can't find an original replacment, so I picked up an assortment of t's and connectors at the auto parts. But, so many things were loose, I can't determine what line goes where. My Chiltons manual has 4 diagrams for the 85/86 302, but shows carburated engines (mine is fuel injected). The diagrams are not labeled well and make no color references.
Any suggestions on where I might find a color coded diagram that can help me fix this?
Also, being relatively new here, is there an area on the site where you can post or find these types of diagrams? If not, maybe there should be? I would be a frequent visitor <grins>
