I would like to know if any member could answer an inquiry.

I have a 69 Bronc and would like to find out what the gearing on it is.

Iv done several searches on the net and havent found what Im looking for.

I do know it has Dana 30 front and Ford 9 in on the rear.

Any help would be appreciated.

There should be an axle code listed on your VIN tag on the glove box door, if you are sure that no one in the past has changed the ger ratio, that can be decoded either by a member here or at broncoohio.com.

The sure fire way to find out is to pull the front diff cover and either count the teeth and divide, or look for the pinion tooth/ring gear tooth count stamped into the gear.

An easier way than having to pull the diff cover off is to put a piece of tape on the rear tire at the 6:00 position and then tape a piece of string to the drive shaft, also at the 6:00 position. Jack the rear tires off the ground, leave it in gear and spin the tire 1 full revolution. This will wrap the string around the driveshaft "X" number of times. If the string gets wraped around 3 and a half times, you have 3.50 gears, if it is almost 4 and a quarter times, then you have 4.11 gears.
