I'm in the process of restoring some systems on my 84 Bronco while the motor is being swapped out, one being the electrical. Has anyone used a master kit from Painless or Cen-Tech, and were they pleased with it? At a cost of about $500 for a kit, I'm also considering re-wiring sections on my own and am looking for connectors and plugs. Any help would be appreciated, as my local Ford dealer partsman told me not to bother him with stuff for old trucks since they no longer sell them. JSM84

I've heard from many people that Painless is a very reliable company, and they back their products. My friend rewired his 79 Ford Truck, and bought a wiring kit from painless, and he was very satisfied.

Try this guy for connectors and stuff. http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=21

I have baught stuff from him and am very satisfied with what I got. Lately I baught the stuff to rebuild a 3G alternator. Since you are upgrading the wiring, consider doing the 3G conversion. Much higher amps at low RPM. I got a 3G from a 96 Torus 3.8L from my local Pick and Pull for $ 17.00 and replaced the bearings, brushes and Voltage regulator plus changed serpentine pully to a double Vbelt, all of which I got from him.

Here is another place that builds wiring harnesses. I've seen their stuff at the Hot Rod Northeast Nationals last fall. Real good stuff and well designed. They cater mostly to GM but if you call them they also support Ford. That's not unusual, if you check out after market stuff GM a lot more support because GM encourages it. Ford doesn't really support much of anything any more. http://www.americanautowire.com/

Good luck,

:)>-

I came across the ffi.com site while doing a search a few days ago, looks like a good route if I convert to EFI or put a Lightning motor in the Bronco. Thanks for the links, dudes!!! JSM84
