Hey i would apreciate it a tun if somebody could maybe give me a list of tranny's that would bolt up to my 351m 78 bronc. Im looking to go to a junk yard and pulling one out and puttin on. I have a t-18 4 speed granny low in it and i want to convert to automatic possibly. The main thing is is that i want to maybe have a little better grearing for the road so i could pull my boat. Let me know what you think. Thanks B)

well I know a C6 will work because thats what I have in my bronco, but its a 3speed. not sure how good that will be to tow a boat though. I also heard, but don't hold me to it. that an AOD trans with a c6 bolt pattern will also bolt up.

Yes, the C-6 was introduced in 1978 but could be special ordered on later models. As for pulling a boat, it is only a 3 speed but the engine should make up for the lack of torque in the transmission.

Automatic sounds nice, but is gonna take some work... You think of putting an NP435? bulletproof trannies built for towing and great for the boat launch... just a suggestion.

There is also the ford ZF 5 speed. Its a direct bolt up but its a manual. Its got a granny low and an overdrive so its excellent for towing and regular freeway driving.
