Did you put RTV in the corners at the end of each cork gasket? There is a spot at each corner that doesn't get covered by a gasket.

Good luck,

:)>-

Have you checked the voltage on the battery and amps if you can when it is hot?

if it mattars the battery is only a few weeks old i think its the radiant heat from the manifolds cooking the starter. heat wrap maybe? on the manifold

Have you checked or replaced the starter relay when this occurs? Over the years I have seen few that would stop working when its hot in the engine bay and then work again after it cooled down. The relay is about $10 at any auto parts store.

once the truck is hot drive ti up on ramps for better clearance and shut it off, then try to start the truck to make sure it wont start.

then assuming it didnt start take a pair of jumper cables and run the red line from the positive terminal on your battery to a screwdriver and touch the ***** driver to the starter (you will get sparks, dont worry they wont burn you), if it dosent turn over then something is causing your starter to sieze, most likeley heat, try something like this

http://eastwood.resultspage.com/search?p=K...20wrap&rk=8

you should be able to wrap some kind of heat insulation around the starter to keep it from getting as hot, actually painting it with chepo silver paint even helps a little.

also if the starter turns over just fine you could be having problems with the neutral safty switch somehow overheating and screwing up

EDIT

also about the intake try buying gasket paper and making your own gasket, its not that hard to do with a little patience and a razor knife , round holes can easily be made with some small copper plumbing parts used as punches. also try ultra copper if the black isnt handeling the heat, and you are letting the stuff cure without tightenign the bolts down, right?

I remember in highschool we never used the front or rear gaskets for the intake. Just a HUGE glob of black rtv stuff. I used the cork when I redid my engine and have a leak on it now so in the upcoming weekes I'll be replacing it, along with the stupid cork oilpan gasket. *should've spent the money for the one piece* *dough!
