Allow me to introduce myself...

I am a strapping young mechanically declined bronco owner who is most grateful for help provided by miesk5 just this morning.

Only because of miesk's generous help was I able to go play in the snow here in Nashville TN with my '88 Full Size in 4x4 high. For those of you a bit further north of Nashville, we don't get too much snow, so 3-5" is considered a blizzard. There was a run on milk and bread at the grocery store and 1/2 of the population is stuck in a ditch somewhere. Good times. I look forward to being part of this forum and hope to learn how to do more than change the oil and beat on my xfer case with a hammer. Miss Kitten if you are out there.. teach away!

Nice Bronco!

Yeah that's not much snow at all for you.. here in CO thats a flurry for us lol

Any future mods you have planned? Also, looks like you got auto hubs.. you may want to switch those out for manual hubs

Thank you. let me say that I type fast so this may seem like a lot but I'm new anyways so what the hey.

I was thinking that exact thing (in reguards to the hubs) but I have a good spare so if one goes out it can be fixed. You know those autolocking hubs are awesome as long as you don't have to get out and under the truck to smack on the transfer case motor with a hammer so that the 4x4 engages

When I first got this truck last year it had been sitting for about 3 years but had been periodically started up (not driven) but was running. One day not long after I had it, I took off down the road and realized a tire was going down (dryrotted sidewalls). I didn't have the money to go ahead with a lift kit and wheels/tires so I just put some new cheap tires on it. At this point I would like to get down to basics. Real basic.. first I want to replace the tape deck because all I have is a color me bad tape and I can't read the radio station dial because it's faded out so I can't tell what station I am seeking.

Other than a stereo, i want some fresh rubber all the way around the windows and a new seal for the topper. I am 100% positive the topper has never been removed because the previous owner bought it brand new and did not realize the top could come off. In fact, he told me that he was pretty sure that it does not come off but I think I am correct that it does. I even have the window sticker where it was purchased... i'll get a picture of that in a bit

None of my windows are working. They were ok 6 months ago but have slowly over time stopped working. Drivers side regulator was replaced first and that held it over then the rear window one went now the pass side went out then the driver's again but now i fear it is something different. I am wondering if there is a bad ground. From what i have been reading i need to figure out where the wires ground and clean the connections.

Regulators just get brittle over time I think.

And I need to install a hitch for my boat. It is a small realatively light fiberglass bassboat with 50hp motor. Nothing big but I need to find a cheap hitch and get it on there.

I have this crazy idea to build some sort of lift for the topper. Something that I could back the bronco under, connect lift to topper, disconnect topper from bronco raise it a couple inches and drive out from under it. This way I could reinstall/remove easily by myself.

Best part of the truck is that the old owner has maintained this vehicle wonderfully removing any rust and applying undercoating as necessary. It looks good for original paint (it's real dirty in picture). Only thing that he has repainted a few times was the lower two tone (tan color) where any rust had been removed, tailgate and spare cover. The frame and everything underneath is emmaculate really for the year. I'll get some more pictures to show what it looks like. Interior is perfect as well.

It has an oil leak. I have no idea where it's leaking from but it is a pretty good drip. 1 qt oil every 2-4 weeks depending on how much I drive it.

My big install other than the driver's side window regulator was a couple of seat covers. like I said I am mechanically declined
