Hi there, just happened to find out this forum in search for some help for my mates 1989 Fullsize Bronco 4x4 with 302 engine.
The previous owner (also a friend of us) had exchanged the heads because of cracks in them, and after this he lost his motivation and sold it cheap so all things were not installed.
Anyways!
We have ran into a couple of problems...
First of all, where is the oil dipstick tube supposed to go? We havent figured out where the hole for it is.
Also we did try to fire it up without headers just to see so the engine wasn't seized, then problem number 2 came up.
It just spits flames from the exhaust ports and nothing more, also did a big-ass boom in the intake when we tried Quick Start spray. So I'm guessing the fireing order is messed up, and we had no papers telling what it was supposed to be.
Do you have any other tips on what the problem with the starting issue could be, besides wrong fireing order? It could have been due to late ignition, but we kind of cleared that one away when it fired in the intake manifold. But I guess it wouldn't be too big of a problem to check it out to.
Thanks for your help!
