Hi all,

I need new mufflers for the beast. I have flowmasters on it now, but was thinking of trying another type. Has anyone had any luck with the ****** aero chambers? What would you guys all recommend? I want a beastly growl and no rice burner sounds. Its got a 351 in it, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!!

So are the flowmasters just not what you looking for ar is there problems with them? I think a lot of people like the flowmaster but to each their own.

I ended up hanging a Dynomax Turbo muffy off of our '87. I like it a lot---except when going around corners in 2nd gear in residential areas, it seems to set off car alarms. Just something about the resonance it makes in that situation.

Oh well..........

The mufflers I have now are rusted through the back side.

Those look good. However, I don't have cats on the truck and I feel the Dynomax would be almost not aggressive enough for the tone I'm going for. But thanks :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Since I live in TN, we don't have inspections. The man I bought it from didn't have them on and I never had any inclination to put them on haha

Really? I'm in Kingsport and I've seen a few cars that I wish would have been inspected and got off the road lol

Flowmaster 40? I looked at that as a possibility. Is there anyway for you to upload a sound clip please? :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

My dad lives in va by Bluefield and they have visual inspections. He gutted his cat and ran 4in straight pipes out the back of his z71 it rumbles nice. He had glasspacks on his 78 chevy and to this day the loudest thing Ive ever heard on the street. That one got him a lot of tickets though. I can actually remember when I was like 8 we got pulled over in it and the cop walked to the back to hear if it was too loud. Well when the cop leaned over to hear it my dad stomped the gas. HAHAHA man it was a **** of fine but first time I saw my dad smile as he was getting a ticket..

That sounds awesome! I'm headed out now to measure stuff up and hopefully order something in the next few days. Is yours welded on? Or just clamped?

Same here..I have a flowmasters 40 series. I like it a lot. Nice and deep.

I'm all for sounding good.. but a loud muffler on a truck is just an blown up fart can on a honda civic - Sounds like crap

Just tell everyone what kinda tone and volume you're ging for.. probably get a better idea.

Also my muffler shop put the muffler on fit loose so I could hear each muffler and the tone at idle and high RPM. Maybe your shop will do the same.
