ok so i knew from the start that my bronco isnt very gas friendly but i did the math and with a very empty tank i squeezed 25 gallons in it, and got 180 miles out of it. i was hopping to get between 250 and 300 miles but no. i did the new ignition system, air cleaner, fuel additives etc.. before doing the test. would a carb rebuild kit help, the bronco sat for 6 months till i bought it and got it to run. it has an edelbrock carb.

and whats the difficulty on the carb rebuild

Like yardape said edelbrock which is typically a carter are simple to work on...follow the instructions and it willrun better....but remember these trucks are heavy and not very aerodynamic so mpg's are not real good....gotta take the good with the bad... B) Even with my 85 i've rebuilt the engine and all (with mods) but with a three speed trans.we're run at a little higher rpm so i'm planing to regear to drop down to a better rpm range with out giving up a good powerband....hope this helps.... B)
