Well I'm finally starting on my project for my "Luxury Cargo" idea!! The plan is fairly simple.. Plywood base, with a nice hardwood floor top. Maybe even some aluminum strips sitting about 1/8" higher than the floor. This way boxes and other items can slide across the aluminum and help prevent scratching the hardwood floor finish.

Anywho, I'll post my updates in this thread as time goes on. As materials/money/tools come along, it'll slowly be building up. We are doing mucho upgrades to our home to most the money is going to the home. Though I'm trying to use craigslist as much as possible.. got our stainless steel samsung fridge for $200 (orig $1200!) and other stuff so I'm gion to see what kinda cool stuff I can find to help build the project, or use in the project!

I'm planing on a cargo box area on the floorboard behind the seats I may put a subwoofer/amp in there..and use the other side for random storage..who knows.

I posted my measurments incase someone else wants to do something along these lines!

The "cut out" is because there is a '****' behind the center console..and the seat belt latches bolted to the floor. I figure the easy solution is to cut out a section of the bottom base to allow clearence for these items. This will make the base level with the truck, while not having to cut/modify the truck itself.

Also I'll be switching my seats out for leather capt. chairs out of a 2010 Suburban or something simular. I'm looking for power/heater/AC seats. I also plan on installing a flow through center console out of a new SUV for more console space. so we'll see how these play into the plans.

My company truck is a 2010 Suburban LTZ loaded to the gills so I've grown to the heated/AC seats..they are sooooo nice! hence why I want them now in the Bronco lol BTW, I may put capt. chairs in the back so instead of a bench seat..you'll get a setup like this:

(Front seats, second row the same setup minus the console

The flow through console is as you see in the photo here. It goes from the dash/radio to the actual console between the seats. This way you have usable space between the dash and console. Unlike our Broncos that have just the floorboard space which seems to me, like wasted space. This is an interior shot of an 09 Chevy Tahoe with the console/captions chairs:

I use photobucket.com to host all my photos.. before I used myspace (create an album and make private, throw all your host photos in there, then click on the image, right click an go to properties, copy the URL then past in "
") Otherwise, you can use a site like photobucket and they give you the image URL code so you just copy n paste

This way I can use the same image on multiple sites than just one..

I can do it! lol

I took woodshop class from 6th grade until I graduated highschool..often I took it twice a year! Plus my dad had a woodshop garage and would make his own furniture and such on his spare time. So I think I've got it in my blood lol

My current project is a lamp and coffee table - I'll post photos once it's done. These are going to have to be done before my cargo area project can get started. We need a new coffee table and would like a lamp to help light things up while we re-do the celing lighting

The flow through console idea is great, and you're right about it being wasted space underneath the dash. I just keep a roll of duct tape in front of my console for an extra cup/cell phone holder, but I'm definately interested in seeing pics of the console and what brand you decide to fit in there. Good luck.

Like I said before Adam, you keep thinking out of the box and one of these days we'll see you on TV with your own auto customizing show :D/ .

Good luck,

:)>-

Thanks!

I have a ton of great ideas that I've yet to see personally done to anyones vehicle.

One of my neato ideas is a hot tub truck. Take an oil burner..say a 2010 Ram 2500 crew cab long bed. Remove the bed and slap on a actual backyard hot tub. At the very end of the tub (back bumper area) have a nice step system into the tub. Garnish with some hotties in bikinis, and you're all set!
