went out this morning and truck was running fine :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ,recently replaced all plugs, wires, cap and rotor. When going up a hill at 55 mph and 1500 rpm it seems that i hit a wall and the rpm stays the same but the mph go from 55-40 in seconds,it seems like alot of power to loose and was wondering what could cause this.Could it be the tps sensor or the O2 sensor,it seems like im replacing parts everyday :(( and would like to solve this problem once and for all. thanks in advance.sorry its a 95 bronco with the 5.0 liter engine and auto trans if this helps to diagnose the problem

my exhaust smells fine, and my tranny shifts perfectly, i just dont seem to have power when going uphill, then i hit the accelerator a little more and she down shifts but it seems a little weak{power}.i was figuring it had something to do with the emmissions or throttle but i was unsure. i even installed a new air cleaner and pcv.

I say ditto on the fuel filter. IF that don't cure it, might have to pull any codes to see if the TPS is bad, bad plug wire, vacuum leak, etc.

ok, i bought a new fuel filter but i cant get the old one off,ive never this much of a hard time,do i need a special tool to disengage the metal fittings at the end of the fuel line, its a 95 and the hayes repair manual doesnt give the directions for this type of fitting from the line to filter.

Look on pages 4-5 and 4-6 in your haynes. It shows the types of fuel line clips and how to remove them, and you may need a special tool depending on the style. Once you take one off, it's easy to figure out how they work. It says to get new ones, too.

Yup I believe you are gonna need the plastic collar lock things. They are cheap & I think they use em on the fuel lines, a/c lines & some transmission lines depending on your year & model. Don't worry they are cheap! And are at places like Pep Boys etc. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

There should be a shrader valve ( like the ones on youre tires) on the intake or the fuel rail that you can use to releave the pressure.

You may also wanna check your rear end.

If the RPM's aren't changing you are either losing

the power at the tranny or the rear end.

If it was the tranny you would see and rpm change

cause the engine would try to compensate.

The fuel problem doesn't make since cause your engine would drop out.

When my rear end blew up, my rig did the same thing going up hills.

I would open up your rear diff and check for metallic gear oil.

Also a sign that the rear end is going out.

Your VSS sensor is probally warning you

i havent changed the rear diff fluid yet but i will check when weatheer gets a little better but i have no grinding,or any other noise back there except a clunck in the u - joint only going from park to reverse or drive but never while driving in any speed or gear.tranny shifts and power to back wheels with no noise even during a hard downshift.

Neither did I.

I had about an eighth of a turn on the driveshaft.

When I was on the accelerator it would bog down and come back a little.

The RPM's would stay the same.

Then before I could check it out my wife took it to the store while I was sleeping.

And then there was a tow bill.
