loose steering column

when i hit a bump or pothole, my steering column feels like it wants to jump out the window

is there something loose i can tighten or could something be worn or broken that i need to replace where it attaches under the truck?

its hard to trouble shoot without being under the truck when i hit rough road....hoping someone has had this issue

Add your truck vitals to your signature it helps get more specific answers. Have you checked the bolts under the dash, both at the base of the column and the ones that secure it to the column support and the ones that attach the column support to the fire wall.
