Well I just got a used 6" BDS stage II lift w/ rear dual a-a-l. It came w/o any hardware, bushings, and shocks. I see that the **** Cepek stage II 6" kits are avail. again. I was wondering since both will end up costing me arounf the same thing once everythign is said and done, if I should keep the used BDS w/o a warranty now and get all remain parts for about another $300 or just get the new Cepek lift and just keep the rear a-a-l from the BDS kit and jsut buy the new rear shackle bushings?

tough call. i know BDS makes a real good kit for a good price, but i dont know a whole lot about the Cepek kit. the BDS arms in the kit are real nice and stout. i'd say go for the BDS, simply based on reputation

I have to agree, just stay with the BDS lift since you already have it, and get your needed bushings and shocks. From what I know about the old **** Cepek lift kits, they were touted as being the strongest of them all. I read somewhere that even the Border Patrol used them on some Broncos. The drop brackets are very stout, too. When I was looking for a kit about 3 years ago, I found out that the DC kits were no longer being made, but some were left that hadn't been sold. A few vendors would offer them now and then, like www.performanceunlimited.com for one.

The stage II kit uses blocks in the rear, as you have found out, so that is the only downfall I can see with the kit. I would caution you about whatever vendor is selling these, as there were some problems with orders place with pu.com I backed out before sending them any $$$ since I didn't get the service I expected from the owner. That's why I ended up getting the SkyJ kit instead.

Offtopic ? for you cj, did you ever get those tranny mount bushings from JBG?

JSM, Im going to place the order for the 66-77 trany bushings from JBG once I ge the rest for the BDS lift. DC is making them again. they contract out the radius arms and the comany finaly got thier act together. Im gonna stay BDS b/c BDS i one of the best compiens around. And besides, i know they have great products. JBG alsp sells a oem body mount, but tahts still just rubber, but it is about $10 less an each side.
