Anyone convert their bulbs to LEDs?

Main question is I found out the overhead lamp (light that turns on when you open the doors) is a 912 bulb..Anyone know how long that bulb is in mm? My choices to buy are 36,39, and 42mm sizes.. not sure what size is best..

I'm going to start my wiring project soon.. Plan is to have a nice rocker switch pannel mounted into the plastic rail caps in the back cargo area. One switch that can roll up/down the rear window, Another that will turn on the cargo lamp in the back, one for the overhead lamp in the front, another for some LED lighting strips that I'm making, and the last for two white LED or Neon tubes for under the truck.

LEDs use very little power, and the setup is primary for camping (my truck is my tent) so this way I won't have to worry abuot having lights on and killing my battery..

Here is a chart http://mdmetric.com/tech/cvtcht.htm for conversion. I assume that they are talking about the overall length of the bulb. The wiring should be fairly easy, you just have to parallel whatever operates the existing circuits. The rear window will be the only thing with a large draw, and proper paralleling one of the switches a little trickier.

Do you have an 89 EVTM? If not, get one, it will make your life a lot simpler in understanding the different circuits and where best to tap in. EBAY has them http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-Ford-Bronco-F-150-250-350-F-Super-Duty-EVTM-Manual-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ130400010675QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature . That is the single most helpful book you can invest in for your truck, beyond that is a set of real shop manuals. I don't see any on EBAY right now, but they come up for sale quite often, any serious wrencher should have a set. Chilton and Haynes are a Readers Digest version of the real thing.

Good luck,

:)>-

Yeah I was just going to tap into the wires. Rear window I saw an issue but I think I cleared it.

Thanks for posting a link for the wiring details - I'll deff need that for this truck so I don't ***** anything up, altho I'm an electronic person at heart

I'll probably start on this soon. My goal is to get this done before next spring
