Thanks Mike. I heard yesterday a good locksmith can take the lock mechanism and make a key. I,m also gonna see if I can get the ignition remade to use the same key. I hate carrying around and going through a dozen keys . I,m staying away from Dennis Carpenter. The way they treat the customers. Green Sales Company in Ohio has a huge ware house of FORD parts made in the USA. I just ordered a reverse sending unit switch for my back up lights and (Wednesday) and got it yesterday(Saturday) Their phone rang 1 time and was answered buy a nice polite courtesy guy. The part was made in the USA.
Yes ,Tiha, I notice alot of people are greedy and think its gold. Ebay is a good places to get burnt. From what they WANT and the SHIPPING--Is way outrageous. I,ll check with Green Sales Company. They have ORIGINAL--NEW OLD STOCK AND ARE REASONABLE. Some people on EBAY --thinks because they quit making a part--they can get whatever they want. Maybe off of some, but look around and some people will sale them cheap or just be nice ,helpful and give you the part. I do it and it makes people feel better about them self and makes the other person feel thankful too. Shipping now days is enough to scare anyone away.I had also found them on eBay. From time to time an actual Ford set will show up, but they don't go cheap.
There used to be a couple sellers on there that would sell whatever locks you wanted, or all of them in a set.
You're in luck, brother, I had to get a complete new lock set for my '79. Just found out today my engine block is **** up. So, no immediate plans to swap out the locks at this point. email me at schoolfriendsteve@gmail and I'll get them to you.I,m looking for the key ,switch ,both doors and tailgate locks . This is absolute truth. Take the easiest lock cylinder to remove and hightail down to a locally owned locksmith. They'll cut keys to match very reasonably.I heard yesterday a good locksmith can take the lock mechanism and make a key.
