Its an old problem but i need help

Ok Im sorry to beat a dead horse but I'm stuck. Im new to this world of broncos I just bought a 1995 Eddie Bauer Edition and I can not get the BACK WINDOW DOWN!!!!!!!!! Please help I have read some things on this site and Im just stuck. I cant get the tail gate down and Im not sure where the saftey switch is that people talk of. I have tried turning the key left and nothing happens and I have had some one press the tailgate in while I tried the switch and nothing so please please some one HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey ...how's it going?? I have a 1995 Eddie Bauer also.When I first got mine the back window did the same thing.Go into the back and pop off the back panel see if you can see anything.My cross bar was bent and wasn't allowing it to go up or down.When you use the front switch are you getting any kind of noise like a humming sound??Have someone try the switch and stand at the back..muddridder

thanks for stopping and the ideas im not getting a humming and a click is not always heard im thinking that its the motor i have the access panel off as we speak and dont see anything that looks out of the ordinary

The rear window is on two different fuse circuits.

The dash switch requires that the ignition key is on or in accessory, and that is one fuse circuit.

The tailgate key switch is hot all the time and is on a different fuse. It also requires that the dash switch is in the neutral position.

Although this is not quite the same as your propblem, it IMO is one of the more concise threads on the rear window.

BTW... I noted that some have used a battery, or battery charger to supply power to the motor directly. One must be careful NOT to get caught in the mechanism. It can be brutal.
