Hey guys, I need help. I went to go give my truck an oil change and I found out the previous owner had stripped the oil drain plug. Is there a special tool to use to get the stripped drain plug out? I tried everything to get it off but seems it keeps on stripping. Help Me!!!

You could weld a new bolt to the head of the stripped plug and then turn them both out.

have you tried Vise- Grips??? If the bolt head is rounded off, these clamping pliers may work. If not, I would be afraid of welding on the oil pan due to possible fire, but glueing a good nut on top with JB Weld should work. IF the bolt is stripped inside of the pan and just turns, use a screwdriver for leverage while turning the Vise-grips or the bolt. Many oil change outlets will tighten hella out of the oil pan nut, and then they strip out. Once removed, you can use a larger-size bolt/plug. Think there's a previous post on that topic, too. Tack weld a thick rod onto the plug. This will give you something to get your fingers on while turning by hand & pulling at the same time.

Torque with a small crescent if need be.

I tried Vise grips too. they dont work either... I may try glueing a good nut on with jbweld. I'm skeptical about welding it myself. I will have to try that and see what happens...

Naw,

Tack welding (wire-feed) 4 l'il spots wouldn't hirt a thing.

Of course, things should be clean & dry.

(& assuming there's no "gas" in the oil)

Total arc time would be 1-2 seconds.

I had this problem one time before but it wasn't with the Bronco. What I did was tighten some vise grips real tight to pute the little teeth groves into the nut. After that I took it off and used some decent sized channel locks and some "brute strength" and it came out.

What about a damaged bolt remover like the craftsman bolt-out? The Vise Grips should do it, but you should hope that the threads on the oil pan itself are still good.
