interior tire rack

i was looking to get a interior tire rack to mount my 35's. i saw this one and really liked it, does any one know where i can find one? thanks

You probably won't find one aftermarket - you'll have to get one off a Bronco. Any Bronco from 80-96 will work. Check in the parts for sale section of this site. That's where I got mine about a year ago. Easy to install and works great.

I looked and there's a couple that have been posted for sale, but I don't know if they've sold yet or not.

You can also place an ad that you want to buy one and may get responses that way.

Yah, the good old local friendly auto recyclers is the place to go. Not sure if 35's will fit on it though.

Yes, I bought a used one to re-locate my 35" spare inside, but i think the max tire size is about 31". So I laid the tire flat and chained it to the rear sear anchor. If you still want to get one and try it, check the ads for Broncos being parted out. Should run you about $40, JSM84

that picture is just the stock one and you can find them at the junk yard or you can buy them new from some of the suppliers of parts for these trucks. If you want to hold a 35 it will require some modification though. The stud is meant to go through the wheel center and unless your 35 is aired down, it wont go

Yup, I had one on a 78' and a 35" would fit if a longer center bolt was used and you unlocked the rear seat so that it could fold partially forward (it works but your truck is now a 2-passenger vehicle) and with a 36" I couldn't close the tailgate.

You might consider either a center-tailgate mount that slides into a receiver hitch (assuming of course you HAVE a receiver hitch /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ) or a roof rack type thing like Billy Toppless has.

I wouldn't recommend using a swing-away with a 36". They beat the **** out of the tailgate and almost always crack the quarter panel at the upper mount. Of course I'm reasonably sure someone will have run one with 38's and had no problems of the sort but most guys wind up regretting the choice to hang something that heavy on a swing-away. I can't for the life of me find the photo but I actually had a 36" mounted on a swing-away on my 79' and opening it one day it got away from me, banged hard against the stop & then peeled the top & rear half of the quarter panel off as the whole thing fell to the ground. Haven't used one since.

The stock in my 89 won't fit anything over stock tires so you probably wont be able to scrap one from an original
