Can the instrument voltage regulator cause your instrument lights to not work. If so how do you pull the regulator off the

circuit board. My blinker lights work when i turn them on but no dash lights. (I thought I had all of my problems behind me.

You just got to love these old trucks.

Thanks for any help.

"....voltage regulator cause your instrument lights to not work?"

That V reg. just drops the voltage to the moving needles in the gauges.

Turning the light switch may control your dash light intensity.......if not., check fuses.

Ditto on Bully Bob's comment. The IVR has nothing to do with lights. It reduces the voltage for a couple of instruments. Check the voltage at the line to the instruments when the switch is set for full brightness. If it is less than 12V work back, you may either have a bad switch or a bad connection or a bad ground. Also, have you checked to see that all the bulbs are working?

Add your truck vitals to your description so we can give more specific help.

Good luck,

:)>-

PS

The attached diagram is good for 80 - 86. If voltage is OK then clean up the grounds. Remove them, clean the area and reconnect. G701 is behind the dash and connected to the fire wall by a *****. Next from the rear of the intake manifold to the fire wall and the connection from the battery to the engine block.

Thanks gentlemen, you save me time and money again. I knew I was getting power to the
