Hello there ... I am in the middle of installing a new door handle release assembly ( behind the handle in the door ) on my 66 Bronco drivers door ... What is the best trick connecting the door latch rod clip to the rod ????? Does one put the clip in first, then the rod or put the rod into the clip & put into hole ????? Any comments would be helpful ... Thanks ....

Hi Tuff..,

That's tricky to answer W/O a pic. Some aft. mkt. clips are plastic., some orig. clips are metal. In some cases, the rod end is threaded for adjustment.

Usually, with the plastic type, they go thru the hole first & when the rod is pushed in, the plastic ends get pushed up so as to hold the clip in the hole.

In some cases, the other end of the clip swivels & snaps onto the rod itself.
