Hi Guys! I am new here, just picked up a 67 that is in pretty bad shape. Trying to get a handle on what i have and come across some issues... The 4 wheel drive shifter.. i'm not sure if its working preperly, and this is a dumb question, but when i want to be in 2 wheel high, what position should the shifter be in? I am not sure if mine lines up with the shift plate, so does anyone knowif i start it from all the way down (to the back of the truck) how many notches until i am in 2 wheel high?

Also, i am new to locking hubs... and my front drivers wheel has one and the passengers wheel seems to be missing the locking plate. Either way, the one with the lock plate, what position should it be in for 2 wheel drive? I can turn the lock and it doesnt ever seem to "lock" or "unlock". Some of the writing is work off, so i cant make out what is says. If someone can tell me the position it should be in, that would be great!

Thanks for your time!!

Welcome 417...

All the way back is 4WD high......1 notch up is 2WD high.

Then..., all the way forward is 4WD low.....1 notch back is neutral.

Sounds like the guts may be removed fr. the hubs. (what brand are they...?)

Test by; In 2 high, & from where the axle meets the backing plate, push on the axle U-joint to see if it will rotate.

If it will rotate....you're in the un-locked position.

If they won't rotate..you're likely locked in 4WD.

New hubs are pretty cheap...& easy to install.
