, The majority of the rust problems would have been easy to prevent like the designed in places to hold mud and moisture. Most of the other areas are a result of poor corrosion protection, poor moisture drainage and too much usage of the body as an electrical conductor causing galvanic rust at welds. I'm sure you have visited them all. I think

I've got most of those problems solved now but time will tell. I used a ton of new metal, rust converter and undercoat plus redesigned splash guards and closed up some of the mud collectors.
I just spent the last year and a half, as time permitted, doing my Bronco;
1. replaced driver side floor board
2. replaced both rocker panels
3. replaced both sides lower B post
4. replaced a small section of the right side A post
5. repaired a couple of small ares of the tub where it steps down to the passenger area
6. replaced the back 20 inches of the tub, cut the rear off a 96 ;
A. replaced the rear tub support
B. Tail gate support
C. Tub section
7. Quarter panels
8. Tail gate
Good luck,
