This Tues I got to Mom's house, cut truck off, and it would not start. Had power at dash, turn key, nothing. Starter recently rebuilt, new battery. Jumped off from starter relay and it fired right up. Drove it home and cut truck off, it cranked back with key. I put in a new starter relay and the electronics of the switch on steering column.

Tonight, went to town, cut truck off, and same thing. Jumped it off the starter relay and it fired right up. Is this a short in the wire from the ignition switch to the relay or something else?

It could be either the neutral safety switch or the ignition switch alignment. You can check this by using a meter to check for 12V at the terminal on the start relay that has the small red with blue striped wire. With the key in the Start position check for 12V at that terminal. If there is no voltage try moving the shift lever to the neutral position. The engine should start in either Neutral or Park.

Aligning the ignition switch, (located on the top of the steering column under the dash), is a simple procedure, see this link: http://broncozone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7243 Also a diagram of the circuit is attached

Good luck,

:)>-
