I keep getting hung

So me and my buddy like to go Mudding. Nothing extreme really just some backwoods fun. He has a K5 with 31s and can go through anything we try. I get stuck in ruts on what looks to be a crossmember or something. It is just hanging down hunk that goes from one side of the frame to the other. Is there anyway around this beam or am I just screwed? I really hate having to be pulled out by a chevy all the time.

i know what you mean about always gettin pulled out by a chevy. i think what yout talkin about is the transfer case cover. i get stuck on it all the time but i dont think you can do anything other then remove it and the you run the risk of crushing your trasfer case.

Stay out of the ruts. :blush: I redid my tcase skid to help with that.

As already noted, that is a skid plate to protect the transfer case. You could remove it, but you run the risk of a rock doing damage to your T case. I keep mine off unless I think I will need it.

is it me or was it a stupid design I mean they know what we do with these why make something so important so frustrating

well how would u do it i mean it needs to be there unless you want to buy a new transfer case every time a rock cracks it open.its not there just to make everyone mad at least im sure thats not what they were aiming for.

Not sure but it seems they could have recessed it a little more. I think I may just have to make my own.
