First, sorry for my late response, I'm not much on here anymore, but I am gonna respectfully disagree with BBB, hydroboost isn't an overkill with any size tire by any means, it just gives an easier pedal when you go with disc brakes in front or on all 4 corners. The HB system is also more forgiving than the vacuum systems because once the engine dies, so does the vacuum system. Hydroboost allows you between 3 & 5 pumps of the brake pedal before it loses its power. Then it is the same as having manual brakes, just like the vacuum is. The main reason for adding hydro is because of the pressure needed with discs. The calipers are a lot harder to actuate than a wheel cylinder is and therefore having a hydraulic assist helps that much more. I've used or driven EBs with manual, vacuum & hydro systems in all three setups (drum/drum, disc/drum, disc, disc) and in my opinion, the hydro/disc/disc setup is the absolute best system there is. It is more responsive, has better stopping ability than any other combination. If you already have at least disc brakes up front, then I wouldn't hesitate at all in swapping to the HB system. If you still have drums all the way around, then I would caution against it because the pressure that an HB system creates, it can blow wheel cylinders out on a regular basis. At the very least, you should have a disc/drum setup before going to HB. Just my opinion, but the steps to get the HB system installed are pretty easy & any of the HB units out there will work. The most common one available and used is the Astrovan conversion. It's what I did and took me roughly 5-6 hours from start to finish. That time frame is with having all my supplies there of course. But do a search on it, I did a write up a few years ago on the install & it is pretty easy.
