If it does decide to keep overheating, you might want to check your fan clutch (given you have one and not an electric fan). I know I was having the same problem and changed out everything and it would be okay for a bit then start to overheat. All I needed was a new clutch for my fan. Total cost was like $68 and some change. @-)

if u do endup needing a radiator i got mine from http://partstrain.com/ verry good quality for the price (mine was $130) @-) coming from california though so it took 5days on ups ground but worth the wait for the 70 dollars savings from the 200 dollar autozone price.

it sounds like c acracked head, does the exhaust smell sweet like antifreeze? You should pressure test the system.

Actually, I'm hoping [-o< that's it's a head gasket and not a cracked block  , cylinder  , water jacket  , etc. I was talking to my dad about it (for some odd reason he doesn't want me to junk it just yet) but he wants me to try pulling the plug wires one by one while it's running and see which one doesn't change how the engine is running. So as you can imagine, even if I find a good pair of insulated pliers or something to pop the plug wires off the cap while it's running, I'm not thrilled :(( with his way of checking things out.

I though about pulling the plugs one by one but around here we have a habit of breaking the dang things right off and having to try to get them out the hard way...although I must admit I'd rather take that chance than take the chance of getting the crap shocked out me. >

Another thing I'm going to do is I'm going to start it up...put a tin can under the exhaust pipe or attach it somehow to catch the "smoke"...I know it's blowing antifreeze after parking it next to a white car :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />... but I need to know if there is anything else in it like oil or gasoline. So I"ll also be playing with matches. :excl:

Anyways, more things to do but one thing is for sure I'm not wanting to put any more money into the Bronco right now... (spent $160 on my car today ...battery etc..and I just found out that I need new tires. :(( )

Wish me luck! [-o<

This damn Bronco...I thought I might actually sell this weekend...had a guy look at it...make me an offer..but I think he changed his mind...oh well...so it still sits in my driveway. The price is MUCH lower on it now as well. First person to bring me $600 cash gets the Bronco and everything I have Bronco related...(all extra parts, etc....anf no I'm not parting her out...too much of a pain in the butt to do that...if you want the parts then take the whole vehicle) Sorry can't go any lower on the price ...need tires and clutch on my car... (at the price I'm asking I can't replace the clutch in my car but I can get new tires...)

I've figured out a few things about the overheating problem. Just not totally sure whether or not it is a blown head gasket, cracked cylinder or cracked block...personally at this point...change the engine and quit messing with it. It's essentially only running on 6 of the 8 cylinders (that was a fun test..lol..got zapped once)...boy does it sound good (seriously..it sounds REALLY good for only running on 6!)

It's driveable...haven't managed to completely blow the engine in it yet. I just keep starting it up every couple of weeks and drive it around the block...pour some antifreeze in it and go.

Anyways, she (yes it's definitely a female) still sits in my driveway for now. I'm too frustrated and broke to mess with it any more until it gets warmer.

Finally sold it. I'm kinda happy yet also kind of sad to see it go. Maybe I'll get another Bronco someday but for now I'll stick with my car. The last few months have been too much of a headache for me even to think about getting another Bronco at the moment!

I do have the extra hardtop and a few other things. The hardtop I'm giving away to whoever will come get it. It's sitting in my garage for now but after Christmas it will be getting moved outside to the backyard. If it's not gone by Springtime...well I'm going to have to find a way to haul it off.

I'll still be around the site some because of all the knowledge I have gained working on the Bronco...I know I can probably help someone out once in awhile!

Colleen,

Get ahold of a pressure tester for radiators and check it, I just did a radiator, water pump and hoses on a Ford and they aren't too bad to replace and should be done anyway.

Well..if I still had it I would...might tell the guy who bought it to pressure test the system.
