I've got an HPD44 from a '79 F150. Want to narrow it to install in my '69 Bronco. Can I use stock EB inner axles after I get the tubes shortened? Are they splined the same as the '79 inner axles?

Thanks for ant info on this.

Hi 'berry..,

At a loss here as to what you going to gain with this project..

Also., does your '69 have a front axle now..?

And, what are you buying for parts.?

"Can I use stock EB inner axles?"

Does this mean you want to use the '69 axles..?

Not sure if the "C" bushing pads will need relocating as well.

Might be better served elaborating as to what you intend using your rig for.

This could get expensive.

Again., unclear what you have & where you're going with this...

Hi Bob,

Right now my Bronco has the stock Dana 30 or 35 (I've heard different things from different people) with drum brakes.

What I'm hoping to do is narrow my full size HP dana44 to install it. I want to gain the disk brakes and better drive line angle being a high pinion axle.

My main question that I have is if the inner axles from an early Bronco dana44 will have the same splines and slide into my high pinion differential.

Thanks,

Chuck

Ya., '69 came with a D-30

That sounds like a good set-up.

The position of the "C" bushing pads is important for caster.

And of course., the gear ratio needs to match the rear.

By me as to the axle spline match ... If I were to bet/guess., I'd say 90%

chance they are interchangable.

Good luck., post some pics., & keep us posted on the progress... >:D< <'>

Sorry a little late however I recently did this conversion. My donor was out of a 78 Fullsize Bronco and I regeared to 4.88s. Biggest thing is oil pan clearance, in other words I think you have to do at least a 3 1/2 susention lift for the front drive line to clear the oil pan. Thats what mine in and worked out great and the conversion was prety simple. I used the following to assist me: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/narrowing_a_ford_dana44.htm
