Try prying it out w/ a small flathead screwdriver. Or if there's enough of it sticking out of the mirror try gripping it w/ a pair of visegrips.

Dang it's being stubborn. No problem. Might try spraying WD-40 in it and see if that will help any.

Use a solvent to release the glue. Don't pry on it. I've seen where doing that will pry the glass off right with it.

i hate rear view mirrors- the falling off part- i worked on getting my mirror to stick to the windshield for months- first time off rode- every time- came off... i finally, after trying everything the local auto parts store had to offer, went over to an auto glass replacement shop- $5 later and my mirror has never(yet) fallen off. dunno the glue they use, but but it worked- Auto Glass Specialist was the place i used

Screwdriver would have been my first choice...I wonder if I can get the plate out of the rearview mirrow that we have out of the other bronco?

Fingernail polish remover or acetone is great at removing glue.

glues no problem(the glue to the windshield/metal piece pealed off in one piece) unless the metal piece is glued into the mirror thing then its getting tons of stuff dumped on it

Ahhh...ok, read that wrong. The metal piece should slide out of the mirror. If you can get something behind it to push it out flat end first.

Once you get it off, take it to a shop to have it reglued. The over-the-counter glue is for sh*t. Pay em the 5 or 10 bucks. Mine came off from the cheapo glue, never fell off again after I took it to the glass shop.
