Most of the aftermarket hoods with a cowl or other scoop molded in will be fiberglass. Companies like US Body Source and Unlimited Products have the hoods as well as just the scoops in various styles. These scoops can be bolted, riveted or glued onto the steel hood, then molded in with body filler for a clean look. This is the cheaper way to go, since the scoops run about $100 vs $500-$600 for a complete hood. You can also do what I did on my 84 and cut an opening in the steel hood to make your scoop functional or add clearance for a taller air cleaner. As long as you do not cut into the rear support rib there's little to no affect on hood strength, JSM84

Many of the hood scoops I looked at before going with the Shaker style were very wide. Some were as wide as the dark blue stripe on the hood, others even more from ridge to ridge (54-55 inches).

I've seen those twin Lund scoops on a few Broncos. Miesk5's Homepage of Bronco links may have a few links to pics or even the install. I believe those use a double-sded 3M tape to secure them to the hood, or you can use screws from below.
