holley 2 barrel

i have a 302 bad carb was wondering if a holley 2 barrel 500 will work good on this truck. i use it for plowin seems ok now but carb is cracked i think builds pressure after 5 min. then wants to flood out. was lookin at the holley 4412. will this bolt right up. Thanks, Skootz

Sure, it'll work. I'm assuming that you have a 2bbl on the 302 now so there aren't any intake issues but as long as you have a 2bbl intake the 4412 will fit & run well. Personally I prefer an electric choke but I've certainly run my share of manuals in New England winters. 500cfm is a good size for a stock engine and once you tweak it a bit it should run just dandy but don't expect great performance right out of the box, plan on rejetting it and idjusting the idle & mixture before you get it to run well. Also, depending on just *how* agressively you plow you may want to consider a off-road kit with side-hung fuel bowls, just a thought but I've seen a lot of plows get right up there on the bankings & it's really no different that taking a hill on the trail.
