Heya guys. Even though it's been an annoying problem for awhile now (just like my family! Except its been for a long time. Haha!) but there is a little high pitch noise when I step on the gas pedal very lightly. I isolated the sound to the Air filter. Took it off and its still there, then I noticed its coming out from one of the hoses. The sound goes away when I put my hand over the opening a little bit. I thought it was the springs inside the tubes making the noise but I'm not sure. Anyone else have had a similar situation to this?

Worst case is if I have to replace the hose. And i'm not seeing any holes of any kinds and the clamps are on pretty tight. Any thoughts?

yo NR;

This is by Ford who designed the intake sys to allow for proper air flow and acceptable noise levels;

Check air cleaner housing for proper installation of base gasket, lid element and engine air cleaner intake tube and duct assembly.

Are components properly installed?

Check underside of hose for rupture(s)

Some reduce noise due to air leaks & more importantly, to reduce air intake Heat by insuliting the air filter box and hose

see my site for some LINKs @ http://www.broncolinks.com/index.php?index=166

such as;

Available in black or metalized silver printed OPP film in 120 yard rolls; "...You can see the insulation between the pipes. Tape wouldnt hold it to the outside and around the box. The bottom of the box is wrapped in insulation, and here you can see the room for the bolt holes..."
