This board has a great deal of quality of info, which i have already been scanning thru...

Soooo Well I guess I will admit Now, that this is my first Bronco... It took a great deal of courage for me to face my past & jump to the other side an buy a Bronco... I been an international Scout guy for almost 20 years, My uncles, cousins & even my father all drove scouts... An i will always have at least one Scout in my garage But I have never strayed away even slightly, until now...

I been in a bind, cause i vacation in upstate NY, in the winter to go sledding. I now live in North Carolina... Last few years, my EXT and I have had issues & got stuck twice back to back years cause of the harsh road conditions. Where if i had a real 4x4 it would have been nothing.. Since gas prices are so high, driving my scout up, which on a good day, going down hill, with the wind, gets about 10 MPG out of the 392... Which makes me cringe to even think about it...

So I have went out and bought a 95 Bronco XL, I prospected over a dozen broncos, until i came across this one... which was 125 miles away... It has a 302/5spd with no thrills but being a very good 4x4! I hope with a little tweaking, to avg about 20 MPG & winterize it enough to handle the conditions, yet give me a good ride for the 700 mile journey....

Soo I'm gonna be picking peoples brains on the best options, since i really am not use to such a variety of performance parts...

Going to try to add a picture of the Bronco! It's a project but So far i'm very happy with the truck!

Thanks Guys! I'll get more pictures up, when i start digging into it... Got some rust issues to deal with but I'm a bodyman by trade, so it isn't that big of a deal...

Great, we could use somebody around here that knows what he is talking about when it comes to body work. I've just about completed the necessary North East renovation of my Bronco. It has taken me over a year to do what would probably take you a week, and still at it :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> .

Driver floor board, both rockers, both lower B post, Small section of Passenger A post, both quarter panels, grafted in the rear 20 inches if a 95 tub to replace the rear tub support and tailgate support posts, new body mounts. Just started reassembling and still have some Bondo work to smooth out a couple of lines and blend the new panels. There is nothing like being up close and personal with your truck :)) .

Welcome! This is a great forum with a lot of helpful guys. I used to be a member at another forum, and they were all jerks there to put it lightly.. I think a great forum as not only great layout, but great people. This would be one of em! Though not as popular, but bigger isn't always better..

Bronco is great.. lots of parts for cheap! Because you live in upstate NY (vacation) I'm sure you're on a lot of back country roads.. One simple, cheap upgrade would be headlights!

I got mine for $70 but now you can get the same kit for $40 shipped. They make a huge difference..I now have them on all four of my vehicles.

Here is a photo to compare..got em at DDMTuning.com

I know I'm a little late but welcome to Bronco Zone.Nothing wrong with a scout. My first real four wheel drive experience was in a 79 ScoutII with a 345,it was my friends and I would drive it every now and then. The Scout and Bronco even share the same 5.5inch bolt pattern.Good luck with your Bronco.I love my 89 Bronco and had it for five years now and has been reliable (knock on wood). It's been the most usefull and fun vehicle I've owned.
