well i bought a 74 bronco about 6 months ago and have just been starring at it since the day i bought it....until this afternoon after church. I removed the motor, tranmission t-case and disassemled a np 435 ... with the help of a friend of course. anywho i know i errored by taking the distrubitor cap off the motor and i didnt lable the harness as to which spark plug each wire goes to. turns out this wasnt even necessary to do and i realized what i had done immediatly after i had done it. oh well any body know where i can start looking for answers. i dont necessarily need an answer just tell me where to look. also the wiring.... its obvioiusly 34 years old.... i hate electrical work and find it intimidating. im sure some one has done this befor so im just curoius about the level of difficulty. im sure i ll have questions about the wire harness in a couple months! and my last question.... if i remove the bolts where the body mounts are can i just lift the whole body off the frame? i have a little body work to do but plan on bed lining the bottom of the body and frame....... thanks

Welcome to Bronco Zone!!! you may want to get a repair manual (under $20) to help you with specific repairs, engine firing order, etc. there's also some good links and info in the How-To & Tech Articles forum, including a link to "Miesk5's Homepage". JSM84

Welcome to the Zone > . As far as wiring goes, there are several places that make wiring harnesses, like Painless and Ron Francis for a couple. They come with pretty good instructions and they also have technical staff to help with any problems. The main thing is to hook up one function at a time and then test it and don't move on till you have that function running. If you do all the hookups before doing any testing you could have a big headache on hand.

You can remove the body from the frame as long as you unhook anything that is going between them like wiring harnesses, brake lines, fuel lines, etc.

Good luck,

:)>-

Welcome, & like Seabronc said, look at Painless & Ron Francis. There is also Centech & Ryan McCormick's www.fordfuelinjection.com (if you plan on going with EFI) too. Just pick which one best suits your needs.
